When the box arrives

Five things to have ready before the fish do.

The farm packs fish to travel overnight. What happens next is the holding tank, and the farm’s guarantee depends on the instructions in the box being followed.

  1. A well-aerated holding tank

Have the tank set up with air running before the box is opened, so the fish go straight into moving, oxygenated water.

  2. Freshwater

    Hold the fish in freshwater.

  3. Take the chlorine out

Municipal water carries chlorine or chloramine. Treat it with a chlorine remover first. The farm sells one in its supplies.

  4. Shade, all day

Keep the holding tank in shade 24 hours a day, or inside an air-conditioned building.

  5. Size the tank to the water

How much tank volume you need depends on the water temperature, so size the tank to the water you have.

The arrival guarantee

We guarantee our fish to arrive alive and healthy.

  1. Tell us in 24 hours

Text, call or email the farm within 24 hours of delivery, and send photos.

  2. Refund or credit

The farm refunds the order or credits your account. Refund questions go to admin@andersonminnows.com.

  3. No exchanges

In the farm's words: “We DO NOT allow for any exchanges of our products.” The instructions in the box must be followed.
